Terms of Service

1. What PincerAPI Is

PincerAPI ("we," "us," "our") is an API proxy, cookbook instruction service, and agent tooling platform. We provide a unified gateway for AI agents and developers to discover, connect to, and use third-party APIs through a single key and billing system.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old or have legal capacity in your jurisdiction to use PincerAPI. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Accounts & API Keys

You're responsible for keeping your API keys secure. Don't share keys publicly. We may revoke keys that appear compromised. You can maintain multiple accounts, but not to circumvent limits or bans.

4. Billing & Payments

PincerAPI operates on a $30/month subscription model. Your Pincer plan gives you access to proxy API calls, cookbooks, and agent tooling — with no per-call charges for APIs included in your plan. You can cancel anytime; your access continues until the end of the current billing period. We process payments through Stripe. Pricing may change with 30 days' notice.

5. Usage Limits

• Maximum request body size: 5 MB
• Maximum timeout per API call: 30 seconds
• Rate limits apply per API and are displayed in the directory
• Proxy call limit: 1,000 calls/month on the Pro plan (contact us for higher limits)

Requests exceeding these limits will be rejected with clear error messages.

6. Fair Use

Don't:

• Use PincerAPI for anything illegal
• Scrape at excessive scale through the proxy
• Try to circumvent billing, rate limits, or usage tracking
• Abuse APIs or violate upstream provider terms
• Distribute malware or run denial-of-service attacks

We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms. We'll always try to reach out first unless the abuse is severe.

7. Data & Logging

We log API usage metadata (endpoints, timestamps, costs, status codes) for billing and quality purposes. We do not store request or response bodies beyond 30 days. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

8. Third-Party APIs

PincerAPI acts as a passthrough proxy. We deliver API responses as-is from upstream providers and aren't liable for their outages, data accuracy, or changes. When you use a third-party API through us, you're also subject to that provider's terms.

9. Intellectual Property

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content accessible through our service infringes your copyright, contact us at support@pincerapi.com. Please respect all third-party API terms and licenses when using our proxy.

10. Disclaimers

PincerAPI is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We work hard to keep things running smoothly, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime or that every upstream API will behave perfectly.

11. Limitation of Liability

Our total liability for any claims is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

12. Termination

We may suspend accounts immediately for abuse or fraud. For other reasons, we'll give you 30 days' notice. You can cancel your subscription and close your account anytime — access continues through the end of the current billing period.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Montgomery County, Maryland.

14. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll email you about material changes. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
